I purchased this suit for the occasion of the opening of an exhibition I curated called
'Alive Inside: The Lure and Lore of the Sideshow" back in 2005. I wanted to wear something that made me look as if I were a sideshow barker from the 1940’s. I bought the suit at a “soul shop” on upper King Street here in Charleston, SC called “Super Bad.” Notice the name is not Sorta Bad, or Kinda Bad. I also bought a nice pair of two-toned alligator shoes to compliment the suit.
