This is a jacket made from Ikat which is a fabric that is from Indonesia and parts of Thailand. It is generally made in strips by hand so matching up pieces for a garment is like working a puzzle. This piece is from my friend Carol who travels extensively and has an eye for different fabrics and textures. This is 100% cotton fibers that are yarn dyed. The original is from 1990.
